Today On Saturday, December 7, 2024 ▲ top

Fortunately, we get a new one every morning.

Welcome to the Calendar Page. Here you have a look at current events, past events, and even some future events that might yet be, as Galadriel said.

By using the word "Today" as the date, this post will always stay here. And "tomorrow" is always a day away.

Today always appears in "This Month", too. It's redundant, but if it really annoys you... nope. Still not going to code that.

This Month Happening in December ▲ top

The page code recognizes certain keywords, such as

"Today", "Tomorrow", or "Last Monday".

These dates will show up in the calendar in the appropriate places. This is of limited utility, but you may want to use it to keep constant reminders or messages for your visitors.

Yesterday

I was younger than I am now. "Yesterday" will always appear in the Past, but not in This Month if today is the 1st.

The The Past appears in order from current to less current.

Tomorrow 10am

I love ya, tomorrow. This will not show up in "This Month" if yesterday was the last day of the month.

The Future Epoch is ordered with events closer to the present first.

The Past Epoch is ordered the same way: things further in the past are farther down the page.

Further into the future than tomorrow morning.

This post may not appear in "This Month" if next Monday falls in the next month. See how that works?

But still lovable. Another one of those funky key phrases...

Let's see where this tricky post shows up. If Monday was the end of the month, this post will show up in the future, but not in This Month.

Php code is self-aware enough to see that Tuesday means the very next Tuesday from the present.

Remember the song "In the Year 2525"?

"In the Year 2525" is a 1969 hit song by the American pop-rock duo of Zager and Evans. It reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks commencing July 12, 1969. It peaked at number one in the UK Singles Chart for three weeks in August and September that year.

Lyrics:

sIn the year 2525, if man is still alive

If woman can survive, they may find

In the year 3535

Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie

Everything you think, do and say

Is in the pill you took today

In the year 4545

You ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes

You won't find a thing to chew

Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year 5555

Your arms hangin' limp at your sides

Your legs got nothin' to do

Some machine's doin' that for you

In the year 6565

You won't need no husband, won't need no wife

You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too

From the bottom of a long glass tube.

A post some time in the middle of June, 2016

It doesn‘t matter what order you put these posts in in the Backroom‘s Sorting Page; this page does its thing.

Timeless Other entries ▲ top

This text must be a date, or it show in "Timeless".

The main Epochs in the Calendar operate Accordion-style, and Types appear grouped within these sections.

The Calendar page puts events in the future ordered From Present to Future, then turns around and puts events in the past from Present to the Past below. If that's confusing, try coding it!

The coding needs to have dates it recognizes in the Subtitle, or Date field: formatted as 3/4/20, or March 4, 2020, but it does recognize certain words and phrases:

Today

Yesterday

Next Monday

Good:

Jan 15, 20125 5pm

Bad:

Jan 15 2015 @ 5pm

Jan 15-17, 2020

If an Event is not where it should be, double check the Event Date in the back room.

Embed a calendar on your website

On a computer, open Google Calendar. You can only get the code to embed in your website from a computer, not the Google Calendar app.

In the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.

On the left side of the screen, click the name of the calendar you want to embed.

In the "Integrate calendar" section, copy the iframe code displayed.

Under the embed code, click Customize.

Choose your options, then copy the HTML code displayed.

Your embedded calendar will only be visible to people you've shared it with. To allow all visitors to see your calendar, you'll need to make it public.
