The Index (Home Page) the About, and Contact pages are pre-designed to your specifications and not accessible for tweaking in appearance.
This Demo Site holds a complete instance of the cmSlate System. There are a number of templates available: Basic, Gallery, Grouped, Directory, Calendar, Current News, as well as a Journal. There are Accordion Style templates, templates where the posts are grouped into Types, templates that show them all mixed in together (but filterable).
Custom templates can always be developed.
cmSlate‘s templates are designed for Responsive Design compatibility, crafted using Bootstrap 4, so it's mobile-ready. This will make Google happy. Getting more hits from Google will make you happy.
